Insta-Pot Dinners for Kids!
Planning and preparing a healthy meal for the family is often something we don’t learn until we have families of our own. But why? Kids who are involved in meal preparation tend to be more open to trying new foods and eat better, healthier meals throughout their lives.
In this class, we will cook dinner together to serve a family of 4-6 using the Instant Pot pressure cooker. We will use a variety of different foods and spices in each meal so that kids and their families can try possibly new-to-them foods. We will be sure to talk about covering basic nutritional needs with each meal.
The meals chosen for this class are intended to fill the allotted class time from prep to cooking, however as individual abilities and skills vary the time it takes to complete dinner will vary. I will stay in the classroom until every student has a completed meal.
*Students with special dietary restrictions must contact me prior to class begins so I can make the necessary recipe adjustments.
Basic cooking tools will be needed (i.e. measuring cups/spoons, knives, etc.) Students must have all ingredients for the meal for the week. All ingredients should be easily found at your local grocery store.
** I will make suggestions for side dishes to accompany your meal that I will prepare while making the Instant Pot meal. Kids are encouraged to make these side dishes along with me.
